The direction of tourism at the universities of Almaty

Private and public universities train professionals in the specialties of hotel and restaurant business, event management, and tourism. The curriculum mainly includes humanities subjects. Every profession has its advantages and disadvantages:

  • the opportunity to visit other countries, participate in the organization of large-scale events at the expense of the company in which the graduate is employed;
  • prospects to gain practical experience in the profession at the international level;
  • the disadvantage is the limited time in visiting tourist places, since the specialist works on specific tasks, and does not go on vacation.

In addition, the organization of tourist tours, events, and restaurant business requires high responsibility from specialists in their field who monitor customer service. Therefore, universities in Kazakhstan, both public and private, include on-the-job training, master classes, and self-development in the educational programs "Tourism and Hotel Business".
